The Royal African Society invites you to join us at our 

2024 Benefit Gala 

“Honouring the Legacy, Shaping the Future”  

from 5.30 pm (GMT) on Friday 22nd November 2024

at  the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

The Gala will showcase innovation and creativity as brilliant conduits for change. The Royal African Society will recognise, applaud and share the outstanding contributions made by businesses, investors, foundations, activists, creatives and exemplary individuals who have had a significant impact on their communities and beyond.

Professor Benedict Oramah, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors at the African Export -Import Bank (Afreximbank) will deliver a keynote address on the “Power of Narrative”.

Through this Benefit Gala we aim to raise funds for the Royal African Society’s 2025-2030 programme and establish new partnerships, unlocking potential to co-create a wide scope of activities in the future, in line with our unique mandate. 

We will gather decision makers, dignitaries, change agents, community leaders and influential figures from the world of business, finance, politics, arts, academia and culture, to celebrate  and showcase the profound power of African narratives in shaping the continent’s future amidst the global agenda.

The spectacular evening will include networking, keynote speeches, cultural performances, award presentations, a gourmet 3-course dinner, and a live and silent auction supported by Artsy.
